Uniquely Floating Village of Lake Titicaca Peru

The lake is located at an altitude of 3812 meters in the Peruvian desert. Here there are 40 floating islands. Initially created by the Uros people of Peru from Inca times. This floating Rural composed of layers of thatch grass tortora put together and tied to a floating base structure, such as pontoons. The result is like a giant raft, and incredibly able to withstand heavy loads and large.

Actually, these islands are quite sophisticated and could be forced to bear but also must be repaired on a regular basis to maintain its strength. When the grass-thatched old started regardless of the basic structure, weeds, new weeds replace the surface. Grass weeds are carefully retrieved from the edge of Lake Titicaca. The islands are anchored in place with ropes tied to wooden poles to the bottom.

Most are from the islands who want to receive visitors, which does not mean things are not good because there are reports of the Uros tribe living tradition is changing rapidly due to increasing their interaction with the tourists. The residents of the lake is regarded itself as the protector of the lake and is said ahead of Incan civilization, and according to legend from generation to generation, there's even before the sun, stars and moon.
