Kruja, a tourist attraction in a spectacular mountainside location in Albania


The remains of the castle. The ottomans occupied Kruja in 1396 and 1415, but after Skanderbegs return Kruja became famous all over Europe for its resistance.



Kruja is also a tourist attraction in a spectacular mountainside location. The Skanderbeg museum is located inside the castle.



Kruja (32 km north to Tirana) is best known as the place Albania's national hero, Skanderbeg successfully resisted the Ottomans for nearly 25 years (1443 - 1468).
